DSP Films is Banijay's new premium documentary label.

Launched in 2023, it builds on Darlow Smithson’s heritage of award-winning films like Touching The Void, 9/11: The Falling Man and Thrilla in Manilla, as well as hit series like I Shouldn’t Be Alive. Today, DSP Films is working on a new slate of exciting documentaries and series for the world’s best platforms.

Graeme McAulay / Managing Director and Executive Producer

Graeme is an Emmy and BAFTA-winning documentary maker who has spent over 20 years originating and delivering premium docs for the UK and US. Prior to launching DSP Films in 2023, he was a Creative Director at Blast Films and Creative EP at The Garden. His credits include: Missing: Dead Or Alive (Netflix), Jeremy Kyle Show: Death On Daytime (Channel 4), Mars: One Day On The Red Planet (Nat Geo/Disney+), Real PD: Kansas City (ID) Hospital (BBC), 24 Hours In Police Custody (Channel 4), Life & Death Row (BBC) and Space Dive (Nat Geo/BBC).

Nancy Bornat / Executive Producer

Nancy is a double BAFTA award-winning doc maker with more than 20 years experience tackling big subjects with some of the brightest talents in the industry. Recent credits include Becoming Frida Kahlo (BBC/Disney+), Uprising (BBC/Amazon Prime), Zuckerberg: King of the Metaverse (Sky) and My Daughter’s Killer (Netflix). A highly trusted Exec, she has worked alongside A-list talent such as Academy Award-winners Steve McQueen and Riz Ahmed, and household names Michel Roux Jr and Rose Ayling-Ellis.

Steff Boulton / Producer

Steff has developed and produced major documentaries and series for global streamers and the UK’s best broadcasters. Previously working at Lightbox, she helped develop and produce Disney’s hotly anticipated Camden series, working with Academy Award-winning Director Asif Kapadia, as well as major artists including Dua Lipa, Chris Martin, Soul II Soul, and Noel Gallagher. Prior to her move into documentaries, she worked at Columbia Records and studied in London and Philadelphia.

Jonathan Meenagh / Development Director

Jonny has played key roles in originating a clutch of global hit series and documentaries with big names and brands such as Idris Elba, Bear Grylls and Red Bull. Previously heading development at Shine TV, he made his mark with pioneering premium factual TV formats built on documentary principles. Credits include: The Island With Bear Grylls (Channel 4, NBC), Hunted (Channel 4, CBS), The Heist (Sky, Amazon Prime), Space Dive (Nat Geo/BBC) and Idris Elba: King Of Speed (BBC/Amazon Prime).

 

Victoria Thomas / Director of Production

Vic has led production management at DSP since 2018, overseeing documentaries such as the Emmy-winning In Cold Blood (ITV), as well as DSP’s highly acclaimed slate of returning non-scripted series. Previously Head of Production at Brinkworth, she set up production for hit A&E franchise Accused: Guilty Or Innocent. Prior to this, she worked as a Production Executive at Twenty Twenty, Maverick and Studio Lambert, and as a Unit Manager at Discovery Networks.
