DSP Films is DSP’s new premium documentary label.

Launched in 2023, it builds on Darlow Smithson’s heritage of award-winning films like 'Touching The Void' and '9/11: The Falling Man,' as well as hit series like 'I Shouldn’t Be Alive.' Today, DSP Films is working on a new slate of exciting documentaries and series for the world’s best platforms.

Graeme McAulay / Managing Director and Executive Producer

Graeme is a BAFTA and Emmy-winning documentary maker who has spent over 20 years originating and delivering premium docs, factual and current affairs for platforms in the UK and US. Prior to launching DSP Films in 2023, Graeme was Creative Director at Blast Films and Creative EP at The Garden. His credits include Missing: Dead Or Alive (Netflix), Jeremy Kyle Show: Death On Daytime (Channel 4), Mars: One Day On The Red Planet (Nat Geo, Disney +), Real PD (ID), Hospital (BBC), 24 Hours In Police Custody (Channel 4), Life & Death Row (BBC) and Space Dive (BBC, Nat Geo).

Jonathan Meenagh / Development Director

Jonathan has 20 years experience developing award-winning documentaries and pioneering premium factual TV formats built on documentary principles. He has previously headed development at Shine TV, working on ambitious non-scripted series such as The Island with Bear Grylls (Channel 4, NBC), Hunted (Channel 4, CBS) and The Heist (Sky, Amazon Prime). Other credits include Space Dive (BBC, Nat Geo), Idris Elba: King of Speed (BBC) and The Secret Life Of Prisons (Channel 4).

Marta Garcia Aliaga / Development Executive

Marta is an Emmy and BAFTA-nominated producer who has developed and produced a string of acclaimed documentary series including Narco Wars (Nat Geo), Drive To Survive (Netflix), Turkey: Empire of Erdogan (BBC) and Sue Perkins: Perfectly Legal (Netflix). She has worked in development at Raw, Wall to Wall and October Films and has made documentaries for Netflix, Nat Geo, BBC, Frontline PBS and Discovery.

Victoria Thomas / Director of Production

Victoria has led production management at DSP since 2018, having previously been Head Of Production at Brinkworth. Prior to this, she has been a Production Executive at Twenty Twenty, Maverick and Studio Lambert and a Unit Manager at Discovery Networks.
